The butterfly park is named after the indigenous Andoke tribe of the Amazon, which is in the process of extinction. This is a space that, in addition to being one of the main tourist destinations for its beauty and proximity to the urban area of the city of Cali, promotes awareness towards the environment. For this reason, the main task of the project managers is that children, young people and adults, through environmental education, learn to coexist adequately with nature. In this process, the visitors of the butterfly park live a comforting, educational and recreational experience and, in addition to this, they can enjoy a fresh and pure air.
The Andoke Butterfly Park is a 300-square-meter farm, home around 1,500 butterflies of more than 15 native species. Also, within the complex of the Andoque foundation, of which the butterfly park is part, there are other very striking spaces, such as a laboratory for the butterfly zoo, a vermicompost area, aquatic gardens and a viewpoint for bird watching. But the experience does not end there, the place offers playful activities, as well as educational workshops, guided tours, sale of typical food and souvenirs.
How to get there?
The Andoke Butterfly Park is located only 20 minutes from the city of Cali, at kilometer 6, Parcelacion la Reforma via Cristo Rey.
