Ansermanuevo, sewing coffee
After a lot of movings, Ansermanuevo stands between the mountainous chain of the western mountain range and the northern Valley of Valle del Cauca. In its blood, this municipality carries with roots from other departments of Colombia, such as Antioquia and Caldas. Over there and also in this lands grows coffee, plantain, and sugarcane. However, Ansermanuevo is known by its delicate and beautiful embroidery, besides of being one of the heritage towns of Colombia, since it is part of the Coffee Cultural Landscape (PCC), declared by UNESCO in 2011 as World Heritage.
The art of embroidery has been a tradition in the town. It was the craft that replaced the farmers work when the pests ruined most of the coffee plantations, between the 80’s and the 90’s. This is the reason why most of the attractions over there are centered on the people, their stories and their fine clothes.
This land is located in the northern valley, is also one of the favorite places for the wind and ecotourism lovers. Paragliding, descending through the canyons of its rivers and spending a night with the silence of nature in Wayra Ecoaventura Park, must be one of the activities included in the "check list" of Ansermanuevo.
"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
