El Cairo, the most beautiful and colorful town.
Far north of Valle del Cauca, 252 kilometers from Cali, between curves and green mountains is located El Cairo, one of the most scenical villages of the department and also the quietest. Here you can breathe pure peace, smeared with coffee smells. Besides, it is important to know that El Cairo is one of the municipalities that is part of the Colombian Coffee Cultural Landscape, declared by UNESCO as World Heritage.
El Cairo is a land where the wind blows cold and every afternoon the visit of the mist comes on time. The way to move around the town is the simplest that exists: walking or cycling. You have to go on its streets to understand its beauty, which will stop you at every colorful door and every flowered balcony; facades adorned with a patiently-waiting horse, or a "Willy’s" Jeep that inspires almost the same impetus of the beast.
In addition to its cultural and coffee attractions, El Cairo is the ideal destination for adventurous travelers, lovers of ecotourism and extreme sports. In the "Villa Salomé", located five blocks from the park, there is a camping site and a canopy cable, which in 300 meters will convince you that these are the coolest and greenest mountains you have ever seen. Another mandatory destination is the Reserva Natural Comunitaria Cerro El Inglés, a conservation initiative located in the Serranía de los Paraguas, which’s nearly 800 nature hectares are protected through sustainable environmental proposals.

This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
