Restrepo, surrounded by sweet mountains
Ninety Kilometers away from Cali is one of the cities of Valle del Cauca that is recognized for its tasty pineapple, coffee and macadamia nut. Most of the land of Restrepo is mountainous, since it starts from the eastern slope of the Andes’ Western Mountain Range, bordering with Calima-Darién and the Chancos hills.
In town, the market place is quite an event, being the center of commerce in the area. There you will find everything: from fresh meat and vegetables to livestock sales. For a moment, you may have the feeling that you are being transported to the time when real change was the economic model that governed civilizations.
Downtown Retrepo, there is one of the tourist sites by excellence: the Parque Museo Calima, an archaeological wonder, where you can see different replicas of the pre-Columbian cultures Ilama, Sonso and Yotoco, all belonging to the Calima culture. And let's not to forget the Reserva Natural de Rio Bravo, a magical place in the middle of nature, lush landscapes, rivers, butterflies, flowers and birds that at simple sight seem to be painted on a canvas.
If what you want is to go through Restrepo only to know it and never come back, you better don’t. There it is said that everyone who knows the town comes back. And it's true.
"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
