Versalles, a hidden place painted in white
Embedded in the Andes’ Western Mountain Range, Versalles rises between streams, mountains and mist, challenged by the folkloric Willys campers who go along their paths to the rhythm of carrileras, vallenatos, salsa, porros and so many other musical rhythms that make the long journeys of its passengers enjoyable. It is the ideal destination to get to know the rural culture of the north of the department and its architecture.
In addition, Versalles is a natural sanctuary. Here is the Reserva Natural La Suiza, the Sendero Ecológico Aguas Lindas and the Cañón del Río Garraoatas. Its green meadow combines perfectly with its dairy cows. Pay attention: as soon as you reach the village, you should try the buñuelos from the Cafetería y Panadería Central, located in front of the park, diagonal to the church. These will be an argument that will make this trip worth it.
Now, if what you want is to hide from the big cities for a few days in the middle of the haze, Versalles is the ideal town to achieve it and feel disconnected from the desire, stress and bustle.
