El Dovio, a drawn town between mountains and tranquility
This is one of the northernmost towns of the Valle del Cauca, where the people’s accent is totally different. El Dovio, in indigenous language, translates "surrounded by mountains", a charming and real meaning, since the eastern slope of the Andes’ Western Mountain Range surrounds the town with its freshness, tranquility and purity.
El Dovio is one of the secret doors to come into in several wonders of the natural world, such as the ‘Serranía de los Paraguas’, a vital ecosystem at a regional level, where there is a cloud forest surrounded by birds and wild animals. The waterfall El Salto, is also part of these charms, imposing thanks to its great height and beauty. And of course, the natural pool San José, which is created by the meeting of two important rivers: Garrapatas and Dovio.
Walking through the town is a visual and spiritual therapy. To be surrounded by green mountains of vitality, under a bluish sky from which cottons fall, and to feel the spring weather brushing your skin is just a sign that life here is beautiful. In El Dovio there are no worries, the only thing that must be done is to have a good coffee, to ask about the pandebonos from the wood oven and the "subidos", made of corn, cheese and a sweet secret touch.
"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
