"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
Lost in the middle of the mountains is the ‘Lago Calima’ (Lake Calima), a 13 kilometers long and almost two wide artificial reservoir. These lands, once inhabited by the Calimas (pre-columbian indigenous community), now lie under water, becoming the favorite destination for nautical sports enthusiasts. Thus, the cold winds that sensually slide through the hills, give way for the skies to be adorned with multicolored figures that drag through the waters those who practice kitesurfing, windsurfing and water sky.
However, if adrenaline isn’t your cup of tea, Lago Calima also offers different stay-overnight options, as it is one of the favorite summer resorts of Valle del Cauca. Here, the days and nights are confused in an environment that invites comfort, rest and tranquility; time loses its purpose and visitors are lost in an intimate relationship with the landscape.
To get there, just take the ‘Panorama’ highway and once you get to ‘Media Canoa’ (The first round about that you will find in this highway), turn left to El Darién or Buenaventura. What happens next? No need to ask, after a few kilometers, and away from the valley plains, will appear, as if by magic, the colossus of the mountain with its waters reflecting the sun's rays.
