Yumbo, a box full of surprises
This, the land previously inhabited the tribe of the "Yumbos", is located just north of Cali and ten minutes from the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport. It is a city known for being the industrial capital of the department. However, it is also one of the favorite destinations for caleños to appease the heat in the afternoons and enjoy their gastronomic "appetizers".
In Yumbo are located several of the largest companies in Valle del Cauca and Colombia. But there is another side to this industrialization: Dapa. Going up the old road of Yumbo you reach these mountains of tranquility, where the temperature drops, allowing you to observe with freshness and detail the beautiful city of Cali and Valle del Cauca. Dapa is also an area of countryside restaurants, cabins and ecological destinations, such as Parque Dapaventura, where you can go hiking and practice some extreme sports.
The other side of tourism in Yumbo is Menga, a space for nightlife lovers. Here the rumba and the salsa shows take over your mind, your body and your passions. An example of this is Delirio, a show that has become a symbol of Cali and its surroundings, that night after night leaves its spectators stunned with its concept of "Salsa + Circus + Orchestra".
"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
