"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
Calima Lake, located in the municipality of El Darién (Valle del Cauca), is the right place to practice water sports. The atmosphere of the place and its geographical conditions favor a calm atmosphere and encourage healthy recreation and the spreading out. The wind seems to deploy its full force on the waters of this lake. This is how it is located third in the world with the fiercest winds. For this reason, the clubs and nautical schools abound near to it. Additionally, the temperature of the place is very pleasant, on average about 18 Celsius degrees.
Surfing, Windsurfing and Kitesurfing are some of the most practiced sports in the lake. All consist of navigating over water on a board, or somewhat similar, and either with a sail or kite. Thanks to the large affluent of inhabitants of nearby urban centers, tourists from within the country and outsiders, this sport has become popular and Calima Lake has become an important tourist attraction. People of all ages come to see a show full of adrenaline and color display.
How to get here?
The municipality of Calima El Darién is located in the department of Valle del Cauca. The lake, where windsurfing takes place, is 100 kilometers from Cali and is accessed by the Buga-Buenaventura highway, 10 kilometers from the head of the aforementioned municipality.
