"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
El Páramo del duende, located between the municipalities Riofrío, Trujillo and Calima-el Darién is an enchanted place that was remained hidden amid the steep terrain and the peaks of the Western Cordillera. This is a place where many stories have been woven, which gives it a mystical and interesting connotation. In addition, El Páramo del Duende is emblematic for the native bird species that it harbors, the exuberant flora and for being the cradle of important rivers and streams.
It is important to remember that this is a protected area that has not been intervened by human action. The Corporación autónoma regional del Valle del Cauca-CVC (Autonomous Regional Corporation of El Valle del Cauca) along with other institutions have come together to perform exploratory work to preserve and discover more wonders that are within the Páramo.
How to get there?
El Páramo del Duende is located in the municipality of Riofrío, a two-day walk from the township of Fenicia. Riofrío is two hours away by bus from the ground transportation of Cali. The company Coopetrans Trujillo offers this service. In a private vehicle, you must take the Cali-Yumbo / Carretera 23 highway, continue the journey through the municipalities: Yumbo, Vijes, Yotoco and Mediacanoa, and take the Mediacanoa-La Virginia highway, a few miles ahead you will find the municipality of Riofrío.
