La Cumbre, a deep sigh into the woods
The town of La Cumbre, is located on the slope of the west side of the Andes’ Western Mountain Range, bounded on the south by Cali and Yumbo, making it an ideal destination to escape the hectic pace of the city. Its dense mountains are home to amazing forests, which are the bane for lovers of nature, silence and calm.
Among its most striking natural attractions is the Bitaco Forest Reserve, located in the southern part of the municipality, a perfect place for tourists who are in search of bird watching and hiking. The Sol de Luna Archaeological Museum and the Balcón de las Heliconias Ecotourism Hotel are also part of the summit treasures. Observe a collection of pre-Columbian pieces made by the first inhabitants of the area and spend the night accompanied by 260 species of heliconias is a privileged and unforgettable experience.
Other attractions of La Cumbre are the "El Diablo" puddle, probably the best known of this area. To immerse yourself in its deep turquoise waters is like being in the earthly paradise. Finally, if you want to be more surprised, you can walk through the main square of the town, there is nothing but sighing. The Panadería Central, located in this important area of the town, is owner and mistress of the most delicious sighs in the Valle del Cauca, which in other parts of the world are known as "merengues", and although they are all made of the same ingredients, the flavor of those sold in these lands is unequaled.
"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
