"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
The park for life, justice and peace was built in memory of the more than 342 victims who left the violent events (Dispossession of land, extortion, murders, massacres, torture, enforced disappearances) committed between 1987 and 1994 in Trujillo, Valle del Cauca. These events had as main perpetrators the drug traffickers and guerrillas, of which the entire municipality was victim.
The purpose of this park is to bring to the present the historical memory, so that the events that occurred will not be forgotten, avoid the repetition of this kind of situation and to vindicate the victims and their families. The park has different seasons, some of these are: Ossuaries, the "Tree of the embrace", "The Shadow of love" wall, "Ermita del abrazo", a room where photographs, newspapers and paintings are exhibited, the mausoleum of the Tiberio Fernández parish priest and spaces in which episodes of violence in Latin America are exposed.
Visitors, when embarking on the path of memory, will be able to reflect on the role of culture and art as an outlet for suffering, a way to heal the wounds of a people plagued by violence, but that keeps hope and believes in the coming generations.
