Jump into magical puddles in Toro
Toro is located in the northern region of Valle del Cauca, between the Cauca River and the eastern slope of the Andes’ Western Mountain Range. It is an area in which sugar and panela cane, banana and coffee grow. The last, extends in certain seasons to the town’s streets so that its grain dries in the most natural and recursive way: underneath the heating sun.
Among its beautiful landscapes are hidden places like the "Tunel de los árboles gigantes" that leads to the Bella Vista farm, where there is a refreshing pool that frees toresanos from the heat. There is also the Salto de Lázaro; a perfect puddle to dive; and the Loma de la Cruz, located in the Palermo neighborhood. From this hill you can see the entire city and part of the beautiful territory of Valle del Cauca, being a destination suitable for anyone, including athletes, faithful believers and even lovers.
Toro is also a synonym to trabuco, a prehispanic drink made with cornmeal, milk, eggs and vanilla that calms thirst and heat, making it very much desired by all those who know it or have heard about it. Another of the gastronomic secrets of the area are the famous "Cuaresmeros", a mixture of biscuit, puff pastry and bread, ideal to accompany a coffee at breakfast time. Only by tasting a fresh "Cuaresmero" will you understand its flavor, which is very difficult to explain in words.
"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
