El Águila, “ponchos” and hats.
The northernmost point of Valle del Cauca is the land of arrieros, who accompany their journeys with horses, mules and donkeys. These gentlemen conquered the high reliefs of the western mountain range for many years, collected the fruits of their crops and thus built a hidden village, which today produces an exquisite coffee that reaches the most distant palates of the world. That is why El Águila is one of the Heritage towns of Colombia, being part of the Coffee Cultural Landscape, declared by UNESCO in 2011 as World Heritage.
The Willy’s, those strong cars created by the United States to face the Second World War, are the preferred means of transport to go to rural areas of the town. Thus, these sharing the burdens with the faithful and hard-working mules. Each Willy’s has a particular and sometimes funny nickname, thanks to which it is recognized. For this reason, traveling in them, rather than being transported, is a way to enjoy El Águila, listen to its stories and being part of it.
The natural beauty of El Aguila is stunning. The lookout point "La Palma", the "Cañaveral Ecological Park" and the "Tatama National Natural Park" are some of the favorite places for tourists who come to this paradise of hills and colorful trails. And finally, before leaving El Águila, it is a must to stop at the "Café Cárdenas" next to the main square: here, tourists fall in love.
"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
