"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
The temple, Santa María Madre de Dios, is a sanctuary located in the Montegrande district of the municipality of Caicedonia. The temple is visited monthly by congregations that ask to the Saint Mother for the sick. It is also visited by those who wish to purify their souls through prayers and the contact with nature. The architecture of this temple catches the eye of its visitors since greek and roman elements predominate the temple’s infrastructure. Inside, the church contains beautiful wooden columns, fibreglass, and some were hand-carved by artisans of the country.
The congregations’ love is reflected in this beautiful construction located in the fertile soils of Caicedonia. The nature that surrounds it, creates a magical environment filled with spirituality and peace. In the center of the sanctuary rests the image of two cherubs embracing the holy and almighty God. At the back of the temple lays the virgin mother of God, giving a warm welcome to everyone who visits her.
How to get there?
To get to Caicedonia from the ground transportation terminal of Cali, people take a bus route from the company Expreso Palmira. This bus route takes the highway Rozo/Recta Palmira. This bus travel lasts four hours and has a price of $22.000 Colombian Pesos (approx. $7.50).
The Montegrande district can be found 7 miles from the urban setting of Caicedonia, and 30 minutes away from the main park the sanctuary will be located. People get there in their own vehicle or they can also take the transportation service offered by the people of Caicedonia.
