"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
In the municipality of Toro, exactly in the township of El Bohío, is the Capilla Doctrinera San Juan Bautista (San Juan Bautista Doctrine Chapel). It is considered a National Monument for being one of the chapels that has not needed any type of restoration and still keeps valuable pieces from the time of its construction. It was built approximately 450 years ago and still retains some niches of wood, religious images of extreme beauty that symbolizes a great cultural and historical value of the municipality.
In the chapel you can find an original canvas of San Juan Bautista, which will easily captivate your attention for its perfect condition despite its age. This place is a treasure that you should visit if you are passionate about history and learning about religious memories of the municipalities of Colombia.
How to get there?
To get to the municipality of Toro from the ground transportation of Cali you can take the bus route from the company Trans Andina, which goes to the municipality of La Unión. From there you take another bus to Toro. Once in the township, you must walk five minutes from the main park to get to this beautiful Doctrine Chapel.
