"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
In Yotoco you will find a magical place: El Dorado Valley. It is composed of the trails of Muñecos, Cordobitas, Colorados, Buenos Aires and La Floresta. El Dorado Valley is a mountainous terrain, full of ancestral history: it is said that in this place the Yotocos indigenous community lived and that nowadays, being this land surrounded by fruit crops, the locals keep great vestiges of the indigenous culture that inhabited these lands. This makes the region an important focus of attention for pre-Colombian treasure seekers, since they think they could find gold in the old "terraces" built by the natives. These terraces are slits found in some mountains that used to hold meetings with the community.
The wind that passes and refreshes this place is essential to live the experience of all that this beautiful indigenous community has left as a cultural heritage. Here you can take guided ecological walks and enjoy the amazing sunsets.
How to get there?
The easiest way to get to the El Dorado Valley is by entering to Puente Tierra, Yotoco. This place is located on the Buga – Buenaventura highway, just after the junction that leads to the municipality of Calima-El Darién. If you go by public transport you should arrive either to Yotoco or to Puente Tierra. From there, you have to take a jeep to go to this fascinating place.
