"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
The ‘Festival de Música Andina Colombiana “Mono Nuñez”’ (Colombian Andean Music Festival "Mono Núñez") takes place every year in Ginebra, and is one of the most renowned musical competitions in the country, being considered National Heritage. This is, in fact, the most important Andean music event in the country. The melodies that emanate from the wind and string instruments, as well as the chants, are the reflection of Colombian folklore. These nostalgic chords invade the South American Andes’ charm, an inspiration for artists, groups and soloists from all over the country who meet in one place, every June, since 1975. The festival lasts four days.
In short, this event brings together the main composers and performers of this musical genre, and a large audience that each year eagerly awaits for the festival to delight their senses and feed their souls with good music. In addition to this, visitors can taste the delicious typical food that is offered at the festival, such as: ‘sancho de gallina’ (typical colombian hen and root vegetable stew) and ‘fritanga’ (assortment of deep fried plantain, root vegetables and cuts of meat). This is the perfect occasion to meet and celebrate with friends. Entry to the event is restricted to minors.
How to get there?
Ginebra is located 50 kilometers up north from Cali. By car, first you need to take the Recta Cali-Palmira highway and passed Santa Elena (small village) keep up straight for a few kilometers. Another option, is to take a bus at Cali’s main public bus station.
