"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
The Viewpoint Loma de la Cruz is one of the oftenly visited destinations in El Dovio. This hill serves as a place of inspiration, a gathering place, a resting point, and as a sanctuary of reflection and meditation for tourists and inhabitants. Furthermore, its visitors can enjoy a pure and chilly air since the hill is surrounded by vegetation, and its temperature is about 68℉.
During the Holy Week’s festivities, the Loma de la Cruz has been selected by its inhabitants to reenact the Viacrucis (way of sorrows), which is offered as an additional attraction to whom wants to participate in this tradition.
From the peak of this hill, the whole municipality can be observed. Once in the peak, the best landscape of a wooded land, rivers, streams, and mountain ranges is appreciated. This scenery is ideal for people looking for a peaceful place, in where they can break free from their daily worries surrounded by the biodiversity and warmth of their people.
How to get there?
The lookout point, Loma de la Cruz, is located in the municipality of El Dovio, north of Valle del Cauca. The journey from Cali takes people 104 miles. In order to get to El Dovio, it is necessary to go through different municipalities, such as, El Cerrito, Ginebra, Buga, Andalucia, and El Zargal. The municipality El Dovio is found some miles further.
