If you like history and anthropology, besides the study of pre-Columbian cultures you can not miss visiting the Calima Archaeological Museum, a very special place where you can appreciate the scientific work and research that has been done on the Calima culture and its four societies, such as the 'Cazadores recolectores', 'Ilama', 'Yotoco' and 'Sonso'. This Archaeological Museum is in the municipality of Calima El Darién and is one of the must-see places in the central-western tourist corridor of Valle del Cauca.
Entertain and instruct yourself on the archaeological heritage of the region, enjoying a guided tour of the exhibition hall and complement it with a walk through the gardens around it. In addition, appreciate the pre-Hispanic homes that recreate the living conditions of the cultures of the different historical periods, a very special plan for the whole family.
The Calima Archaeological Museum is guarded by the ‘Instituto para la Investigación y la Preservación del Patrimonio Cultural y Natural del Valle del Cauca INCIVA’ (Research and Preservation of the Cultural and Natural Heritage of Valle del Cauca).
