"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
The parque Recreacional la Esmeralda (recreational park), located in the municipality of Guacarí, is a charming scenery to have fun and enjoy family time. Built in 1995, this place has won the affection of the vallecaucanos (native from el Valle) who visit it often. It holds an ornamental waterfall, natural puddles, camping sites, outdoor huts, children games, horse riding, disco, soccer fields, and a traditional food restaurant whose main dish is El Sancocho de Gallina.
One of the activities that attracts most of the tourists to the park is the usage of tires to descend the waterfall, which is surrounded by beautiful vegetation. This experience implies adrenaline, which makes it exciting to undertake this journey. On the other hand, park visitors can also enjoy spaces of relaxation and leisurness. For example, they can sit to admire the region’s splendid geography. This is a privileged place in that its landscape is composed by monumental beauty valleys and mountains and its cozy climate make this region one of the most welcoming of El Valle.
How to get there?
The Parque Recreacional la Esmeralda (recreational park) is located to the left of the Puente Rojo district, municipality of Ginebra. The fastest route to get there with a personal vehicle is taking the highway Cali-Palmira to the municipality of El Cerrito and then taking the highway Ginebra/El Naranjal until reaching the municipality.
Taking the ground transportation of Cali, the bus route from the company Coodetrans Palmira is available.
