Sevilla, the town of parallel universes

To the northeast of Valle del Cauca, on the western slopes of the Central Mountain Range, is Sevilla, the most beautiful viewpoint of the department. From its green mountains, full of banana, cassava, beans and especially coffee crops, you can see the vastness and majesty of the Cauca River.

Sevilla stands out as one of the heritage towns of Colombia, since it is part of the Coffee Cultural Landscape, declared by UNESCO in 2011 as World Heritage. Here, many farmers live off their coffee crops, preserving the culture that revolves around it, the architecture, the accent, the vehicles, among thousands of other details that together make up the coffee legacy.

Drinking a "pintado" at Café Casablanca is a safe ticket to travel through time. Its walls are covered with history and, of course, with Carlos Gardel photos; here the always remembered singer and composer of Argentine tangos seems to be alive in the middle of the local tables. His songs, that resound in the soul of the sevillanos, are the perfect companion for a good cup of hot coffee or brandy shot.

If you like nature, El Páramo de la Yerbabuena is the ideal place for you to transport to another planet, inhabited by an army of frailejones that hide among the mysticism of the mist that surrounds this wonderful town popularly called 'el Mirador del Valle '.

In the same way, touring the Ecoparque Pedagógico El Bosque que Camina is a unique experience, ideal for hiking and bird watching. Tourists will be surprised with the myriad of flora and fauna that is preserved in this oasis. Within the Ecoparque there is also the Museo Nacional de la Artesanía en Guadua (National Museum of Guadua Handcrafts), where there are more than 200 handcrafts made with this beautiful material similar to bamboo, but of Colombian roots.
