"The Biennial is a trip to discover new worlds and also to be discovered and seduced by new movements, lenguages and imaginaries to think about dancing as a way to express our emotions" says Amparo Sinisterra de Carvajar, president of the 2nd Biennial.
This is the Pacific festival, in which the most importat thing is to highlight the gastronomy, the folk music and the traditions of this region in Valle del Cauca. It is an awesome experience for the locals and of course for the visitors who want to dive into this culture.
This is one of the most important and traditional festivals in Colombia. In which the favorite attractions are the "Salsódromo", the "Cali viejo" carnival, the antique cars parade, the "Melómanos" meeting, the "Superconcierto" a really nice musical show, between other shows ans events.
This is one of the most importat fashion, beauty and health events in Colombia, in which the innovative ideas of the designers and business people are shown to the public and the esthetic lovers.
In Caicedonia, near the main park and diagonal to the taxi office, there is a restaurant called “Criollos Tropical” where a majestic dish is prepared. The “pollo a la carreta” has become the typical dish of this municipality and for forty years have been captivating the palates of the inhabitants and reflects the flavor of its history.
This dish is served in a construction cart covered by green banana-tree leaves, which contain the exquisite flavor of a chicken, accompanied by banana toast, “hogao” (a mixture of onion and tomato) and finely chopped chicken viscera. You cannot miss out visiting this place that sets aside the common plates and offers a completely new experience, do not hesitate to taste the delicious flavor that defines the Caicedonenses.
How to get here?
To get to Caicedonia from the transport terminal of Cali, take a bus from the company Expreso Palmira, which takes the Rozo-Palmira highway. This trip will long approximately four hours and the price of every ticket is $22.000.
One there, you have to get to the main park of Caicedonia, in the north direction. Next to the park is the corner between Calle 9 and Carrera 16. There you will find this particular restaurant.
